10x is easier than 2x

Have any of you read the book 10x is easier than 2x?  I just started this book but so far, love the concept.  I’m sure a lot of you might be familiar with this concept but sometimes we need a reminder.  If you want to grow by 2x you just keep doing the same things you have been doing but just do more of it and when we decide we want to step up our game that’s exactly what we tend to do, more of the same thing.  Work harder and get better results, but not 10x results.  The premise of this book is not to work more, but work only on things that will grow our business and let everything else go.  Be hyper focused.  This is not me, (right now at least). I work very hard, am very disciplined, but I do so many things I know I should not do.  I go on canva and design my own stuff, I edit videos, I write contracts, I make spreadsheets.  I could go on and on and the sad thing is I have amazing staff and I still do little administrative things constantly.  Why?  I think because I had my own small company for so long and I was the chief cook and bottle washer so I know how to do everything, I’m extremely impatient and don’t want to bother people.  I might ask for something and if after an hour or two, I don't have it, my next email is never mind, I did it myself.

So this book is something I really, really need.  It starts with setting a very big goal.  Basically your goal needs to be so big that you CAN’T do all the little things you shouldn't do.  It’s taking your 80/20 day where you spend 80% on the little things and 20% on the growth of your business and getting rid of the 80% and just doing the 20%.

Ouch, thinking about that is just scary to me, I bet it might be scary to you too.  This would be such a huge change for me.  People always ask why I don’t have an assistant and my answer is there are things I do that nobody else can do.  Do you say that?  I hear that from agents all the time.  I want things done a certain way or my clients don’t want to talk to anyone else. A million reasons why we don’t delegate more.  I’m going to start this journey, maybe you might want to start with me.  Let’s see what we can do if we give up the 80%, we delegate, we hire, we focus on our highest and best use.  I’m excited about the potential each of us have and love the idea of shaking things up.  Please share with me what this would mean for you.  I love to keep each other motivated.

Remember, The Pareto Principle, which is also called the law of the vital few, holds that 80% of the effect is produced from 20% of the cause.

Have a Great week!!!
