Baker to Vegas

Good Morning Team,

I had an amazing experience this weekend as support for theBakertoVegasrun.  For those of you not familiar, theBakertoVegasrun is a relay run by different law enforcement agencies across the country. It covers over 120 miles broken up into 20 legs and our son Christopher was on the LA County Sheriff's Court Division team running the fifth leg.
What became very apparent, while we were meeting people along the route and waitingto“catch”  Christopher at the end of his leg, is how much the team support, motivation and camaraderie made a difference in how well the team did overall.  The Court division beat their projected time by 10 minutes with 4 runners, including Christopher, having their personal best.  But then I remembered for the past 9 months these guys were not only training but holding each other accountable with constant calls, texts and practices.  More importantly, they never stopped motivating each othertostaydisciplined.   When the whole thing was over yesterday, we all sat around and heard stories of their struggles and pains and how they relied on each othertokeep them motivated, tokeep going even when placing overall seemed way out of reach.  The team ended up in 2nd place in their division, way above what they were projectedtofinish.  It is so importanttolook at who is on your team, who do you rely on for motivation, do you get motivation from anyone outside yourself and think about how much you could do if you had a team that motivated you.  I want ustobe that team and we are striving every daytobe THAT team.  I  believe the harder we work as a team the more it motivates each one of ustowork hard for our clients, teams and family. TOGETHER we will be a forcetobe reckoned with!

Oorah!!

Have a great week!!!
